The Real Value Proposition We Are Ignoring

By obsessing over civilian space tourism, we miss the actual technological breakthroughs happening right now.

The real economic engine of the modern space economy is not leisure travel. It is orbital infrastructure, Earth observation, telecommunications constellations, and in-space manufacturing. Companies that focus on high-bandwidth laser links and low-Earth-orbit data processing are printing cash. Companies that try to build luxury hotels in microgravity are going bankrupt.

China understands this better than anyone, regardless of what the press releases say.
