They claim that if they call enough landlines or send enough text messages to "likely voters," they can capture the soul of the electorate. That is a fantasy. In an age of call screening, absolute distrust in institutions, and fractured digital identities, the "data" being collected is nothing more than the noise of the most vocal 1 percent.
